A woman driver, who was both under the influence of alcohol and unlicensed, caused a panic in the city center of Edirne. The driver lost control of her vehicle, which crashed through the iron barriers and flew into the opposite lane. The moments were captured by security cameras, while a pedestrian passing by narrowly escaped being hit by the vehicle.
PEDESTRIAN NEARLY LOST HER LIFE AT THE CROSSWALK
The car with license plate 22 DS 659, driven by B.T., crashed into the iron barriers on the median after the driver lost control as it approached the crosswalk. The vehicle broke through the barriers and flew into the opposite lane. At that moment, a pedestrian crossing the street narrowly escaped being hit by the car.
The pedestrian, who was hit by the pieces of the iron barriers that broke off due to the impact, was slightly injured. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries occurred in the accident, and it was determined that the driver B.T. had a blood alcohol level of 3.85 promille and was driving without a license.
44 THOUSAND 500 LIRA FINE
A total administrative fine of 44 thousand 500 lira was imposed on the driver and the vehicle owner. The moments when the driver lost control and the pedestrian narrowly escaped were recorded second by second by the security camera.
Driver B.T. was taken to the police station for her statement, while police teams initiated an investigation into the accident.
