During the Independence Day celebrations in New York, a drunk driver crashed into the celebration area. Three people died and nine people were injured in the incident. It was reported that four of the nine injured were in critical condition. DRUNK DRIVER CRASHES INTO CELEBRATION AREAAccording to New York Police Department Chief Jeffrey Maddrey, a Ford F-150 traveling at high speed crashed into the sidewalk by passing through the intersection and plunged into Corlears Hook Park in Manhattan's Lower East Side area shortly before 9:00 pm on Thursday. It has been confirmed that two people died at the scene. New York City Fire Department Deputy Chief Michael Meyers stated that four of the injured were in critical condition, three were seriously injured, and two suffered minor injuries. ACCIDENT NOT CONSIDERED A TERRORIST ATTACKThe first firefighting team to arrive at the scene found four injured people under the truck. Firefighters rescued the injured from under the truck before the medical teams intervened. Maddrey and New York City Mayor Eric Adams stated that the accident was not a terrorist attack. Officials are continuing their efforts to determine whether alcohol use was a factor in the accident. The identities of the deceased in the incident have not been disclosed yet.
