The head coach of our National Football Team, Vincenzo Montella, fielded our young players Arda Güler and Kenan Yıldız, both 19 years old, in the starting lineup against Austria. With this, Turkey became the first country to include two players under the age of 20 in the starting 11 in a qualifying match of a major tournament since Hungary (EURO 1964 vs Denmark).

The young players Arda Güler and Kenan Yıldız, who started in the starting 11 of the Turkish National Football Team in the round of 16 match against Austria in the 2024 European Football Championship, made history.

In the national team, coach Vincenzo Montella gave a chance to the two 19-year-old players in the starting 11 in the match against Austria. With this, the crescent-star team became the first country to include two players under the age of 20 in the starting 11 in an elimination match in major tournaments (European Championship & World Cup) since Hungary (EURO 1964 vs Denmark).
