A first in NBA history has occurred.

NBA legend LeBron James and his son Bronny James made history by playing against the Phoenix Suns in Los Angeles Lakers jerseys.

THE FIRST FATHER-SON DUO TO WEAR THE SAME JERSEY IN THE NBA

The duo became the first father-son pair to play together for the same NBA team in a game during a preseason match held at Acrisure Arena in California. LeBron, who will turn 40 in December, took the court in his second preseason game with the Lakers following a 124-107 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, while rookie Bronny, who was selected 55th overall by the Lakers from USC in June, entered the game at the start of the second quarter to share this historic moment with his father on the occasion of his 20th birthday.

GAME PERFORMANCES

LeBron James played for 16 minutes in the game against the Suns, scoring 19 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and providing 4 assists in a 118-114 loss. Bronny, on the other hand, did not score in the 13 minutes he played but managed to grab 2 rebounds.

LeBron James, the all-time leading scorer in the NBA, a 20-time All-Star, and entering his 22nd season, stated after the game, "Wow, this was surreal. It was really beautiful for both of us, and especially for our family. This is definitely a moment I will never forget. For a father, this means everything. For someone who didn't have something like this growing up, to have such an impact on your children and to be able to share moments with your son, and most importantly, to be able to work together with your son, is one of the greatest things a father can hope for or wish for."
