After the airstrikes carried out by Israel and the USA, the capital of Iran, Tehran, is witnessing one of the largest protest demonstrations in recent years. Tens of thousands of Iranians took to the streets at night, vowing "revenge" in response to the attacks.
"BABY KILLER ISRAEL" SLOGANS
The crowd gathered in the busiest streets and squares of Tehran marched with Iranian flags and photos of those who lost their lives in the attacks.
Thousands of people gathered on Enqelab Street chanted in unison, "Death to the oppressors!", "Death to the baby killer Israel!", "Death to America!"
As the protesters' slogans were often accompanied by cries of "Allahu Akbar," it was heard that the group leaders referenced verses from the Quran in their speeches.
The speakers reading verses meaning "Do not be sad, do not be afraid; we will save you" and "We are with the oppressed" caused emotional moments among the crowd in the square.
CALLS FOR REVENGE RESONATED
In the footage, the public is seen creating a giant light parade by turning on the flashlights of their phones, with young, old, and children together. The demonstrators argued that the attacks should not go unanswered, calling on the government for "revenge."
