A harmful substance has been found in the cheese produced and sold at all branches of the famous supermarket chain.

One of the most discussed issues in October continues to be the 'List of Imitated or Adulterated Foods' published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Initially, the list included over 600 foods, featuring numerous products such as meat, cheese, and olive oil, while the recent addition included new cheese and butter producers.

Investigations revealed that one of the three-letter supermarket chains that have increased in number in Turkey in recent years had it produced by a subcontractor and sold it in all its branches, where fraudulent substances were also detected in the 'Ahir' cheese brand. It was learned that the netamisin substance detected in milk and dairy products helps extend the shelf life of the product by preventing the growth of mold or yeast.

This food preservative, which is among the banned substances by the Ministry, can lead to health problems such as vomiting, diarrhea, and allergies when consumed in excessive amounts.
