The concert, which was planned to be held on February 19 by BKM organization but was postponed due to Buika suffering from a severe flu infection, took place at the Volkswagen Arena.
Starting with the screening of a video consisting of rehearsal footage, Buika addressed her fans, expressing that she went through very anxious days, met angelic Turkish doctors during this process, and that they brought her back to life.
Buika, who is also an amateur musician, invited her doctor on stage and performed two songs together with him.
"I LOVE YOU ISTANBUL"
The Spanish artist then said in Turkish, "I love you Istanbul!" and performed beloved songs including "Dolor de rumba," "Las simples cosas," "La falsa moneda," and "Yo me lo merezco."
After her solo performance, Buika expressed her excitement and invited Kibariye to the stage amidst applause.
THEY SUNG SEVDAM AĞLIYOR
The duo performed together live for the first time the song "Sevdam ağlıyor," with lyrics and music by Sezen Aksu, along with "No habra nadie en el mundo," which was released on digital platforms in recent weeks.
Continuing the concert, Kibariye sang songs including "Sil baştan," "Gidemem," and "Kara kış."
In her lively song "İki arada bir derede," Gülay Sütçü accompanied Kibariye on stage with her dances.
Remembering the musician Yaşar Gaga, who passed away in 2018 due to multiple organ failure while receiving treatment at the hospital, Kibariye said, "He made great efforts for us to come together. It was meant to be today, and I’m glad it is. You have honored us, welcome, and may your days be happy."
CONCERTS WILL CONTINUE
Buika and Kibariye will perform concerts in Ankara on May 20, in Izmir on May 22, in Antalya on May 23, and in Istanbul on May 26 as part of the tour organized by BKM.
