An earthquake of magnitude 6 occurred on Samar Island in the eastern Philippines. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that a magnitude 6 earthquake struck the Nena area, located in the northwest of Samar Island in the eastern Philippines.

The earthquake, recorded at a depth of 73.3 kilometers, was also felt in other settlements along the country's eastern coast. No casualties or property damage were reported following the earthquake.
