In early August in Russia, 46-year-old Sergei Pichugin, who set out to the Sea of Okhotsk with his brother and 15-year-old nephew, was rescued 67 days after going missing.

On August 9, 46-year-old Sergei Pichugin, who went fishing in the Sea of Okhotsk in the far east of the country with his brother and 15-year-old nephew, was found days later by fishermen after going missing. Following a report of a boat sighting off the coast of Kamchatka, teams from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations sprang into action and rescued Pichugin after 67 days.

THE BODIES OF HIS BROTHER AND NEPHEW WERE FOUND

Pichugin was rescued alive approximately a thousand kilometers from the point where he set out to sea, while the lifeless bodies of his brother and nephew, who had gone out to sea with him, were found on the boat. While Pichugin was taken to the port of Magadan by a rescue ship, he was later hospitalized. It was reported that 46-year-old Sergei Pichugin's health condition is good, and he has begun receiving both medical and psychological support. Russian health officials stated that Pichugin may have survived due to his weight, noting that he weighed 100 kilograms when he set out to sea and had significantly lost weight. An investigation into the incident has also been launched.
