A retired police officer, Şükrü Daştan, who had been missing for a while in Niksar, Tokat, was found dead in his vehicle in an irrigation canal.

Yesterday, retired police officer Şükrü Daştan, who left his home in the Niksar district, could not be reached again. Following this situation, his family reported him missing to the gendarmerie teams.

FOUND AMONG THE REEDS

The gendarmerie teams detected a car among the reeds during their search in the irrigation canal on the Şahinli-Mahmudiye road. An examination of the vehicle in the canal revealed the body of 66-year-old Daştan. After the investigations at the scene, Şükrü Daştan's lifeless body was sent to the Niksar State Hospital morgue.

An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
