A student in Ümraniye threatened the vice principal with a knife after experiencing a problem at school. Following the incident, a three-week observation decision was made regarding the student.

On October 24, Thursday, around noon, an incident occurred at Yunus Emre Middle School located on Akşemsettin Street in the Esenevler neighborhood of Ümraniye. According to the information obtained, Deputy Principal S.M.U. called the family of student K.Ş. to the school due to a problem that K.Ş. had with another student within the school. Allegedly, while waiting in the schoolyard for the family to arrive with his student, the Deputy Principal spoke on the phone with K.Ş.'s mother and said, 'I am not your child's caregiver.' Upon hearing this, the student insulted S.M.U. and left the school. After a while, K.Ş. returned to the schoolyard with a knife, making threats, while other teachers intervened to stop him as he was trying to call the Deputy Principal.

'OBSERVATION' DECISION

Following a report, K.Ş. was detained by the police and was referred to the duty magistrate court after giving a statement to the prosecutor. The duty magistrate court decided to place K.Ş. under observation for three weeks to determine whether he has a mental illness.
