After the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad, Syria's new minister, who is preparing to transition to a regular army structure, called on all opposition groups to gather in the capital, Damascus. It was noted that the new Syrian Army, which will be united under a single umbrella with the support of Turkish advisors and experts, will consist of 300,000 personnel. Meanwhile, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) will maintain a military presence at five critical points.

The opposition forces that overthrew Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria are officially transitioning to a regular army structure. While all opposition groups that played a significant role in the overthrow of the 61-year Ba'ath regime are being called to the capital, Damascus, the national army structure will begin with groups located in Idlib and will gradually unite the southern groups along the Daraa-Quneitra line under a single umbrella, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA).

ARMY SCHEME SHARED WITH COMMANDERS

Developments regarding the terrorist organization PKK-YPG's extension, the SDF, will be shaped according to the stance the organization will display. In a meeting that started under the leadership of the new defense minister of the administration in Damascus, Murhaf Ebu Kasra, the army scheme that will undertake the protection of all of Syria, regardless of group distinction, was shared with opposition commanders. Details regarding the establishment of institutions and military hierarchy were also shared.

TURKEY WILL PROVIDE ADVISORY AND EXPERT SUPPORT

It has been learned that Turkey will actively provide advisory and expert support in the restructuring process of Syria's naval, air, and ground forces. Additionally, with the implementation of the agreed-upon agreements, the Turkish military presence will also be located in five different points in Syria.

IN THE FIRST STAGE, AN ARMY OF 80,000 WILL BE ESTABLISHED URGENTLY

Syrian General Ahmed Osman stated in his assessment that an urgent skeleton of an army of 70,000 to 80,000 will be formed. General Osman, who served as a military representative in international negotiation processes regarding Syria, noted that they recently held a special meeting with the country's new leader, Ahmed al-Shara.

"THE GOAL IS TO ESTABLISH AN ARMY OF 300,000"

General Ahmed Osman said, "Damascus's goal is to establish an army structure of 300,000 within the next one to one and a half years. Both the sensitive situation inside and the threat from Israel make this necessary. The Assad regime had a police, army, and intelligence force of 470,000 on the day it fell. However, that structure was positioned not against Israel or any other threat, but against its own people. This situation has now changed. Currently, the former HTS force of 40,000 coming from Idlib, 50,000 experienced soldiers joining from the SNA, and officers, intelligence personnel, and soldiers who have not been involved in crimes in the regime can quickly bring the new army to 150,000 to 200,000. We can also quickly restore our military infrastructure that was destroyed with the coordinates given by Assad. In this regard, Turkey's military support is of extraordinary importance," he said.

"PKK AND ISIS WILL BE ELIMINATED"

The government established after the revolution declared that no different military or political structure would be allowed in any part of the country. The PKK-YPG administration has made countless requests for meetings with Damascus since December 8. Their initial demands were for the terrorist front of PKK/YPG to join the Syrian army in its current form, followed by requests for disarmament and purely political integration. In addition to the calls for dialogue, it has been reported that they requested bureaucracy, parliamentary, and ministerial quotas from Damascus. The Damascus administration stated that all occupied areas must be surrendered unconditionally; otherwise, the first operation would take place in the PKK terrorist corridor.

According to a report in the Türkiye newspaper, the items conveyed by Damascus's terrorist wing include the annulment of citizenship granted to PKK supporters during the Assad regime, the departure of terrorists coming from outside Syria, the reorganization of title deeds, the return of the altered demographics to their original form, and the prosecution of Syrian citizens who are members of the PKK. Despite everything, the administration of Ahmed al-Shara is in favor of resolving the change through dialogue in light of these principles. Parallel to the resolute statements made from Damascus, the areas under terrorist occupation in Hasakah-Kamışlı-Raqqa have also become active. The Russians have begun to evacuate their forces from PKK locations such as Kamışlı-Ayn Issa-Hasakah. The US has also started evacuations from the Omar oil field, one of Syria's largest oil wells.
