The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has identified a total of 12 new Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA) in 3 cities under the Renewable Energy Resource Areas Regulation. The ministry's announcement on the matter was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, a total of 12 new YEKA have been announced under the Energy Resource Areas Regulation, including 3 in Gazipaşa district of Antalya, 3 in the central, Bulanık, and Korkut districts of Muş, and 6 in the Özalp and Başkale districts of Van. The announcement included sketches and lists regarding the boundaries of the areas in question and their corner coordinates.WHAT IS RENEWABLE ENERGY?Renewable Energy is the energy obtained from the existing energy flow in continuous natural processes. Currently, 80% of global energy is derived from fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources play the most important role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. Renewable energy sources can be listed as Solar, Wind, Biomass, Geothermal, Hydraulic, Hydrogen, and Ocean Energy (Wave and Tidal). Simply put, renewable energy sources are those that are used in the production of other energy sources, such as solar, water, wind, and wave, without being depleted themselves. Renewable energy sources are derived from natural resources and are energies that can be sustainable. Unlike fossil energy sources, renewable energy sources do not deplete over time. Resources like coal, oil, and natural gas are examples of non-renewable energies. RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES:The main classes of renewable energy sources are as follows. Below you can find detailed information for each source. Solar Energy Wind Energy Biomass Energy Geothermal Energy Hydroelectric Energy Hydrogen Energy Wave Energy
