In the corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, following the claims made by businessman Adem Soytekin, who provided testimony under the scope of 'effective remorse', Mustafa Keleş, the son of the detained suspect Fatih Keleş, who is referred to as Ekrem İmamoğlu's 'right-hand man' and 'treasurer', as well as his nephew Murat Keleş, were taken into custody.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues its corruption investigation against suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) after being arrested, on charges of 'being a leader of a criminal organization', 'being a member of a criminal organization', 'bribery', 'qualified fraud', 'illegally obtaining personal data', and 'interfering with a tender'.
RELEASE OF 4 NAMES UNDER EFFECTIVE REMORSE
Among the suspects detained within the scope of the investigation, businessman Adem Soytekin's brother Ogün Soytekin, his bodyguard Murat Erenler, businesswoman Nezahat Kurt, and Bülent Yılmaz provided statements under the provisions of effective remorse. The peace criminal court decided on the release of the suspects.
ARREST OF FATİH KELEŞ'S SON AND NEPHEW
On the other hand, following the allegations made by Adem Soytekin, another name who provided a statement under effective remorse, the detained suspect and President of the IMM Sports Club, Fatih Keleş's son Mustafa Keleş and nephew Murat Keleş were taken into custody.
WHO IS FATİH KELEŞ?
Fatih Keleş, the President of the IMM Sports Club and one of the closest associates of Ekrem İmamoğlu, had come to the fore with the footage of money counting at the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Keleş, who is referred to as İmamoğlu's 'right-hand man' and 'treasurer', had money of unknown origin seized during searches conducted at his office in Florya.
