A passenger bus collided with a truck in Denizli: 1 person died, 20 people were injured.

In the Sarayköy district of Denizli, a traffic accident occurred when an intercity passenger bus collided with a truck, resulting in the death of one passenger, a Bulgarian national, and injuries to 20 others, three of whom are in serious condition.

The accident took place around 03:00 in the Duacılı neighborhood on the İzmir-Denizli highway. The intercity passenger bus, driven by Ahmet Gürpınar (60), was transporting passengers from Didim, Aydın to Alanya, Antalya when it collided with a truck driven by İsmail Tokcan (36) that was coming out of a gas station. The impact caused significant damage to the right side of the bus.

A BULGARIAN NATIONAL WOMAN DIED

Upon notification from bystanders, health, fire, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured passengers trapped inside the bus were rescued by fire and health teams using ladders through the windows. The injured were taken to various hospitals by ambulances. It was determined that Gulshen Kadirsancı, a Bulgarian national among the passengers, died at the scene.

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

It was determined that 20 people, three of whom are in serious condition, were injured in the passenger bus. The treatment of the injured continues in hospitals. As part of the investigation initiated regarding the incident, the public prosecutor conducted an examination. After the examination by the gendarmerie's crime scene investigation teams, the body of Kadirsancı, who lost her life, was taken to the morgue of Sarayköy State Hospital for autopsy. Traffic flow was managed by police teams in a single lane. After the examinations conducted at the scene, the truck and the bus were removed with the help of a tow truck. The investigation regarding the accident is ongoing.
