A 45-year-old pediatrician in Germany is set to be tried on 130 separate counts of sexual crimes against children. The suspect faces charges of severe child abuse and rape, with allegations that most of the crimes were committed in the hospitals where he worked. It was announced that the investigation into the doctor, who has been detained since November 2025, is ongoing.
It has been reported that a 45-year-old pediatrician working in the German state of Brandenburg will be tried for 130 separate cases of sexual crimes against children.
According to reports in the German press citing the Potsdam Public Prosecutor's Office, the doctor faces charges of "aggravated child abuse" and "rape."
ALLEGEDLY COMMITTED DURING DUTY
The doctor, who reportedly worked at hospitals in the towns of Rathenow and Nauen, is alleged to have committed most of the crimes while on duty.
The indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office states that the incidents subject to the charges occurred between 2013 and 2025.
IN CUSTODY SINCE NOVEMBER
According to reports, the doctor was arrested in November 2025 following a complaint from a child's mother. It was stated that the suspect has been in custody since that date.
It was noted that within the scope of the investigation, police teams seized a large number of digital data carriers, and suspicions of abuse against other children were also uncovered during these examinations.
It was stated that the Potsdam Prosecutor's Office and the Brandenburg police are investigating whether there are any new victims.
INTERNAL INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AT THE HOSPITAL
It was reported that the Havelland Clinic Group also launched an internal investigation after the incident came to light.
