Following the detection of rabies cases in the Divan and Bahçe villages of the Siverek district in Şanlıurfa, the area has been quarantined. Three people were injured as a result of an attack by a dog confirmed to have rabies. The moments when a woman passing by was attacked by the dog were captured on security cameras.

Emine A., who was attacked by a dog in Bahçe village, was hospitalized with injuries to her face. The same dog also attacked 11-year-old Emir A. and Mesut A. in Divan village, causing injuries to them as well. The children, who were injured in various parts of their bodies, were treated at Siverek State Hospital.
VILLAGE QUARANTINED
After the incident, the dog, which was neutralized by the villagers, was confirmed to have rabies as a result of tests conducted by the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams. Following this, Divan village was quarantined with a warning sign placed. Authorities administered rabies vaccinations to cats, dogs, and livestock in the area to prevent the spread of the disease. Additionally, it was reported that the entry of animals from outside into the village was banned for 6 months. Officials urged citizens to be cautious and emphasized that in case of a suspicious animal bite or attack, they should seek medical assistance as soon as possible.
