The Ministry of Interior has announced the penalty for those who do not renew their driver's license by December 31, 2024. Accordingly, it was stated that individuals who do not change their license will be fined 4,064 TL.

The Ministry of Interior initially set the deadline for renewing driver's licenses as December 31, 2022, but extended this period to December 31, 2024, due to high demand. In a revised announcement, the Ministry of Interior extended the deadline for renewing driver's licenses obtained before January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2024. It is strongly emphasized that drivers should renew their licenses considering this date.

Appointments for renewal procedures can be made through the website of the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs or by calling the ALO 199 hotline. Renewal procedures will be carried out after the necessary documents and fees are completed.

HOW MUCH IS THE DRIVER'S LICENSE RENEWAL FEE?

For those who will exchange their old type driver's license for a new type, a total fee of 15 TL is charged. The fees are as follows:

Driver's license valuable paper fee: 225 TL

Driver's license fee: 225 TL

Foundation share: 25 TL

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR RENEWAL:

-Identity document

-Driver's health report

-1 biometric photo

-Document or written statement indicating blood type

-Criminal record certificate (It is checked electronically from the system. It can also be obtained via e-Government)
