The statements made by Özgür Özel after the evacuation tension at the CHP Headquarters drew attention. Leaving the headquarters after the police intervention, Özel made a remark in front of the building, saying, “We are doing what is fitting for CHP. Everyone is doing what is fitting for themselves,” which was a reference to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Following the day-long evacuation tension and police intervention at the CHP Headquarters, Özgür Özel made striking statements. Özel's remarks, after leaving the CHP Headquarters as police teams entered the party building following a court decision, were interpreted as a reference to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
LEFT HEADQUARTERS AFTER POLICE INTERVENTION
The altercation and high tension at the CHP Headquarters from the early morning hours escalated further in the evening. After the evacuation order was given to the Ankara Police Department, police teams entered the building, and party members in the garden and headquarters were intervened with pepper spray.
Following these events, Özgür Özel, who was temporarily removed from his position as CHP Chairman by court order, left the headquarters along with numerous lawmakers.
“WE ARE DOING WHAT IS WORTHY OF CHP”
Özel, speaking in front of the party building, used harsh language. Özel said, “We are doing what is worthy of CHP. Everyone is doing what is worthy of themselves. We are leaving to take it back.” These words of Özel were considered a reference to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who regained his authority as chairman after the absolute nullity decision.
“WE WILL RECLAIM THE FATHER'S HOME”
Özel, who appeared quite upset, continued his statement with the following words: “I am very sorry, but we are leaving to reclaim a father's home. When we return here, this government and its collaborators will not dare to do this again.”
Özel also announced that he would march to the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
TORN UP THE NOTICE
It was observed that Özgür Özel received the evacuation notice delivered to him before leaving the headquarters and then tore up the pages. It was learned that Özel, apparently angry, said, “They destroyed the father's home for this.”
TENSION PEAKS IN CHP
The crisis in CHP, which began after the absolute nullity decision, has reached its most critical stage so far with the altercation in front of the headquarters, police intervention, evacuation attempt, and mutual harsh statements.
While the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu camp advocates for the implementation of the court decision, Özgür Özel and the current administration evaluate these events as a “political operation” and an “attempt at forcible takeover.” As political tension rises in Ankara, all eyes are on new developments in CHP.
