During routine inspections in Şanlıurfa, Dicle Elektrik uncovered an illegal usage method that left them in disbelief. In the Zahireciler Borsası area of Eyyüpkent neighborhood in central Eyyübiye district, Dicle Elektrik teams identified an electric vehicle parked in front of a grain warehouse being charged via an illegal line drawn from a pole.
ILLEGAL CHARGING STATION SET UP
In their on-site investigation, Dicle Elektrik teams determined that an external and illegal connection had been drawn from the main power line passing over the grain warehouse. Seeing the vehicle's charging cable connected to this line without any safety precautions, the teams were astonished by the extent of the illegal usage. The setup, used almost like an illegal charging station for the electric vehicle, was canceled upon the teams' intervention. While all details of the incident were documented, a penalty notice was issued against the vehicle owner, F.P., for illegal electricity usage in accordance with regulations.
LIFE AND PROPERTY SAFETY DISREGARDED
In a statement from the company, it was emphasized that charging an electric vehicle with illegal electricity not only causes energy loss but also poses serious dangers to life and property safety. It was noted that charging electric vehicles, which require high power, through non-standard connections could lead to severe risks such as fire, electric shock, and grid failures, endangering the life and property safety of nearby citizens. It was highlighted that the detected setup was a dangerous practice completely ignoring safety rules, while Dicle Elektrik teams reported continuing their inspections in the area without interruption.
