A striking message from President Erdoğan: We will achieve a Turkey without terrorism.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at the SAHA EXPO 2024 Defense, Aviation, and Space Industry Fair Program at the Istanbul Fair Center. In his speech, Erdoğan referred to the attack on TUSAŞ and made striking evaluations.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements;

"The other day, a heinous terrorist attack was carried out at TUSAŞ's Kahramankazan campus. I extend my condolences to those who were martyred in the attack. I wish a speedy recovery to our injured brothers. Although our pain is great due to our martyrs, our determination to fight against the vile is strong. They cannot make us take a step back. Turkey will eliminate all threats at their source.

"WE RESPONDED TO THE ATTACK IN KIND"

Every attack targeting the peace and security of our nation will fail. In the end, it will strike back at the terrorist barons who feed on blood. We responded to the attack in kind. We are destroying terrorist targets in Syria and Iraq. We are collapsing the lairs of treacherous terrorists on their heads.

"NOBODY CAN INTERFERE WITH OUR GOAL OF A TERROR-FREE TURKEY"

We are well aware of the intentions of the hired killer gangs. We are conscious of what purpose the bloody actions of the separatist murderers serve. We thoroughly discussed the steps we will take in our security meeting. Nobody can interfere with our goal of a terror-free Turkey. We will turn their games against them.

"SOCIAL MEDIA IS LIKE AN OPERATIONAL TOOL"

The aim of terrorism is not only to shed blood but also to create an atmosphere of fear in society. Some circles in our country are knowingly or unknowingly helping terrorism achieve this goal. It acts like an operational tool for social media. Sensitivities are neglected when it comes to our country. What saddens us the most is that we expect our print and visual media to be much more responsible and meticulous in such matters. Recently, our media has been failing in these incidents. We saw irresponsible broadcasts at TUSAŞ. There is no acceptable aspect to this.

"WE APPRECIATE THE COMMON STANCE"

We appreciate the common stance adopted by our political parties, including the opposition, alongside our nation after the terrorist act.

"OUR DEFENSE INDUSTRY HAS SIGNED A SERIOUS RECORD"

It is noteworthy that agreements worth 6.2 billion dollars, including 4.6 billion dollars in export contracts, will be signed throughout the fair. Turkey is confidently moving towards becoming a strong player in the global defense industry sector. In just 2024, our defense industry companies signed a serious record by exporting products to 178 different countries."
