Once close friends but later facing intense debates, U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire businessman Elon Musk were surprisingly spotted together in the same frame. The two figures sat side by side at a memorial event organized by Charlie Kirk. Their friendly conversation for a while caught attention.
Thousands of people attended the memorial ceremony held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, in memory of Charlie Kirk, one of the most recognized right-wing political commentators in the United States.
TRUMP: TODAY AMERICA IS A NATION IN MOURNING
Many prominent figures, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk's wife Erica Kirk, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Trump's son Donald Trump Jr., participated as speakers at the memorial ceremony. Upon his arrival at the stadium, Trump was greeted with chants of "USA," and at the beginning of his speech, he stated, "Today America is a nation in mourning, grief, and shock."
"A MARTYR FOR AMERICA AND FREEDOM"
In his speech, Trump spoke about his personal friendship with Charlie Kirk and the support Kirk provided for his campaign, saying, "On that terrible day, September 10, 2025, the greatest defender of American freedom became immortal. He is now a martyr for America and freedom."
Trump announced that Kirk would be honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the U.S. He also expressed that the bullet fired at Charlie Kirk targeted all of America and hoped that the assassin would receive the harshest punishment.
TRUMP MET WITH ELON MUSK
During the memorial ceremony, U.S. President Trump was seen sitting next to billionaire Elon Musk, who had previously left the Department of Government Efficiency after experiencing public disagreements with Trump and had heavily criticized him.
Musk shared a photo of the meeting on social media with the message "For Charlie."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Musk had donated over $270 million to Trump's presidential campaign. After Trump's victory, Musk was appointed to head the Department of Government Efficiency, which played a significant role in the layoffs of thousands of people in public institutions. However, Musk's "incredible" reaction to the new tax law, which Trump described as "big and beautiful," led to the end of their friendship.
HARSH ACCUSATIONS
As the disputes escalated, Musk recalled that Trump's name appeared in the "Epstein files," drawing attention to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein's connections to a prostitution ring involving underage girls. In response, Trump threatened to "deport" Musk.
