The Minister of Justice, Yılmaz Tunç, announced that 621 judges and public prosecutors have been appointed with the Judicial and Administrative Jurisdiction 2025 Year Excuse and Continuing Authority Decrees, and that 1,840 continuing authority regulations have been made. It was stated that the capacity of the appellate judiciary has been increased with the activation of the new courts.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated in a post on his social media account that they have published the "Judicial and Administrative Jurisdiction 2025 Year Excuse and Continuing Authority Decrees" as the Judges and Prosecutors Council.

1840 CONTINUING AUTHORITY REGULATION

Stating that they have appointed 621 judges and public prosecutors with the Excuse Decree, Tunç mentioned, "We have made 1840 continuing authority regulations." He reported that they have also appointed 115 member judges in regional appellate courts.

17 NEW CHAMBERS ACTIVATED

Minister Tunç noted that they have activated a total of 17 new chambers, including 12 criminal chambers and 5 civil chambers, and added: "Thus, we have significantly increased the capacity of the appellate jurisdiction. We have decided to activate the Heavy Penal Courts of Beyşehir, Erbaa, Kahta, and Merzifon as of January 2, 2026. By ending the divided court practice, we have made 319 courts independent and activated 404 courts together with the 85 new courts we have established. In administrative jurisdiction, we have appointed 219 judges. We have activated the Diyarbakır, Kayseri, and Antalya Regional Administrative Courts. We have activated new Administrative and Tax Courts in Bingöl, Amasya, Hakkari, and Şırnak."

Wishing that the decrees will be beneficial, Tunç expressed, "I wish our judges and public prosecutors, who carry out their duties while adhering to the principles of impartiality and independence without ever deviating from the rule of law, great success in their new assignments."
