A weight limit has been imposed on the sale of certain vegetables.

Changes have been made to the packaging standards for potatoes, dry onions, and sweet potatoes. The "Regulation on the Standards to be Followed in Wholesale and Retail Trade of Vegetables and Fruits" prepared by the Ministry of Trade has been published in the Official Gazette.

CAN BE A MAXIMUM OF 30 KILOGRAMS

In this context, for wholesale and retail trade, the packaging for potatoes, dry onions, and sweet potatoes in the form of nets, jute sacks, bags, boxes, or crates can be a maximum of 30 kilograms.

SACKS COULD BE 50 KILOS

Previously, the packaging for these products could be a maximum of 50 kilograms. The regulation will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
