35-year-old Cansu Engin Çamur, who was swept away by the current after a boat capsized while rafting in the Melen Stream in Düzce, was found dead as a result of search efforts.

Cansu Engin Çamur (35), who was swept away by the current after a boat capsized while rafting on the Melen River in Düzce, has lost her life. The incident occurred in the evening hours in the Cumayeri district. A 7-person boat, carrying Cansu Engin Çamur who was participating in a rafting tour on the Melen River, capsized at the Esentepe location. Çamur fell from the boat and was swept away by the current, disappearing in the water. Upon notification, AFAD, gendarmerie, and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area.

GENDARMERIE LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT

A search operation was initiated from both the water and the shore using rafting boats to find Çamur. As a result of the efforts, Çamur's lifeless body was found 10 kilometers from the capsizing site, in front of the Melen Dam wall in the Gümüşoluk village of Kocaali district, Sakarya. Çamur's body, recovered from the water, was taken to the morgue of Akçakoca State Hospital for an autopsy.

The gendarmerie has launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
