Ayfer Karakayışlı, 43, who was attacked with acid by her ex-husband in Izmir, lost her fight for life after days. While her 13-year-old daughter, seriously injured in the attack, continues treatment, the incident was allegedly motivated by jealousy.
The horrific attack that occurred in the Konak district of Izmir on June 1 ended in tragedy. Ayfer Karakayışlı, who was attacked with acid by her ex-husband Hakan Ş., whom she had divorced some time ago, lost her life at the hospital where she was taken. It was learned that the couple's 13-year-old daughter, who was also injured in the same attack, is in serious condition.
AMBUSHED AND HIT WITH ACID
The incident occurred on 3498 Street in the Ferahlı neighborhood. While Ayfer Karakayışlı was heading home with her daughter M.Ş., she was stopped by her ex-husband Hakan Ş., from whom she had divorced about three months ago. According to allegations, the attacker threw the acid he had brought with him onto Karakayışlı, quickly turning the area into a scene of chaos.

13-year-old M.Ş., who tried to stop the attack on her mother, was also affected by the acid. During the scuffle, the attacker Hakan Ş. was also injured. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area, and the injured were taken to the hospital by ambulances.
DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
Ayfer Karakayışlı, who suffered severe burns on various parts of her body, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions. The death of the young woman plunged her family and relatives into grief.

It was learned that the treatment of 13-year-old M.Ş., who was injured in the attack, continues, and her health condition remains critical. The suspect Hakan Ş., who was also injured during the incident, is under treatment at the hospital.

Within the scope of the investigation, it has been stated that Hakan Ş. had problems with his ex-wife due to jealousy and that he may have carried out the attack for this reason. The investigation launched into the incident continues.
