A woman who was run over by a bus in Beşiktaş has lost her life.

A woman who got off a minibus in Beşiktaş was hit by a bus. The woman, who was run over by the bus, lost her life at the scene, while the driver was taken into custody.

At around 11:30 in the Konaklar neighborhood of 4th Levent, Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, Lütfiye Koyunoğlu (38) tragically lost her life after getting off a minibus.

WOMAN KILLED BY BUS

As Koyunoğlu was walking to the bus stop, she was hit by a bus with the license plate 34 BEZ 179, which was approaching the stop to pick up passengers. The woman, who was caught under the bus, died at the scene as the rear tire of the bus ran over her head.

DRIVER IN CUSTODY

Police and medical teams were dispatched to the accident site following a report. The medical teams determined during their initial checks that the woman had lost her life. As a result of the police investigation, Koyunoğlu's lifeless body was taken to the hospital morgue. The driver, Kemal B., was taken into custody.

"HER HEAD WAS SHATTERED"

A shopkeeper who spoke about the incident said, "A woman was screaming in front of the kiosk. I was curious about why she was screaming, so I went to check. I saw that the bus had hit the woman on the ground. I went to her, and her head was shattered on the ground. They called an ambulance; she was dead," he said. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
