HACIOSMANOĞLU'S STATEMENTS

President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu said, "We made our decisions not based on individuals but on the common interests of Turkish football. We will continue to work with the same understanding from now on."

In his speech at the TFF Ordinary Financial General Assembly held at the JW Marriott Hotel Ankara, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu thanked all stakeholders who contributed to Turkish football, stating, "Today, we are not just holding a financial general assembly. We are accounting for the great march that brought Turkish football back to the World Cup stage, and we are shaping future goals together."

Hacıosmanoğlu noted that the crescent-star team, which earned the right to participate in the World Cup after 24 years, brought great pride with their struggle, belief, and character, and continued as follows:

"I thank our head coach Vincenzo Montella, our players, and everyone who contributed to this historic success on behalf of our nation. However, participating in the World Cup is not an end for us but a new beginning. Our goal is not only to take part in tournaments but to become one of the permanent and strong countries of major organizations. When we took office, our national team was ranked 27th in the FIFA world rankings; today, it has risen to 22nd place. The fact that we will compete in the UEFA Nations League A League for the first time in our history after the World Cup is also one of the important indicators of this great rise. We see the same development in women's football as well. During our term, our A Women's National Team was ranked 69th in the FIFA rankings; today, it has risen to 49th place. I congratulate our Women's National Team, which has guaranteed the World Cup play-offs for the first time in our history. One of our biggest goals is to see our Women's National Team on the World Cup stage and ensure they represent our country at the highest level."

Also touching on the successes of national teams in younger age categories, Hacıosmanoğlu said, "Sustainable success is only possible with a strong football economy. Acting with this understanding, we have further expanded our national team's sponsor network in the past year. With the participation of 11 new leading brands in their fields, we increased our total sponsorship count to 32. This figure is the highest number of sponsorships in the history of the Turkish Football Federation. Through our brand collaborations, we created an economic value of approximately 1.7 billion lira. Additionally, for the first time, we secured broadcast agreements for the 2nd and 3rd league matches, increasing the visibility and economic value of our football."

NEW GOAL: HOSTING THE WORLD CUP

Stating that they are conducting intensive efforts to ensure Turkish football is strongly represented not only on the field but also internationally, Hacıosmanoğlu provided information: "Today, there is a Turkey more effectively represented in various committees of FIFA and UEFA. The opening of UEFA's third representative office in Istanbul, after London and Brussels, is one of the most concrete results of this vision. Our efforts continue for the opening of FIFA's representative office in Istanbul as well. During my dear friend Infantino's visits to Istanbul, we held discussions on the allocation of space with our esteemed President and relevant authorities. We will inaugurate FIFA's representative office in Istanbul as soon as possible."

Reminding that Tüpraş Stadium hosted the UEFA Europa League final in May, Hacıosmanoğlu said, "We will host important organizations such as the 2027 Conference League final and the 2032 European Football Championship. As a country that will organize the 2032 European Championship, one of our biggest goals is to host the World Cup. We continue our efforts resolutely within the scope of this vision."

"A CLIMATE WHERE FOOTBALL IS DISCUSSED"

Pointing out the importance of infrastructure in lasting success, Hacıosmanoğlu evaluated, "When we took office, there were 99 professional clubs and approximately 8,000 licensed players in the development leagues. Today, we have increased this number to 247 clubs and 18,000 licensed players. We raised the annual number of matches from 5,000 to 16,500. Our goal is to reach 300 clubs and 25,000 licensed players in the upcoming period. These figures indicate not only growth but also a major transformation in Turkish football's player production capacity."

"We want to create a climate where football is discussed, not referees," said Hacıosmanoğlu, adding, "Therefore, we attach special importance to referee training, development, and institutional structure. We support our young referees. We encourage our female referees to take on more responsibility. The fact that a female referee has officiated in the Super League after 22 years is a result of our approach. Our wish is for our female referees to take on a more visible and active role at every level of Turkish football."

"SWEAT AND EFFORT"

In the final part of his speech, TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu emphasized that "they are on the side of the righteous, not the powerful," and recorded the following:

"Two years ago, you entrusted the management of Turkish football to us. We have always carried this trust with great responsibility and conscience. We made our decisions not based on individuals but on the common interests of Turkish football. We will continue to work with the same understanding from now on. I want everyone to know that we are not those who owe their existence to their positions. We are always on the side of the righteous, not the powerful. We have never had, nor will we ever have, a concern to stay longer in these seats by getting along with those who see themselves as great. We came not to occupy seats but to build. We are servants of Turkish football, not of positions. For us, the sweat and effort of every club are sacred. Protecting this sacred is our primary duty. Every club and president of the football family are equal and hold the same value in our eyes. Our approach has always been in this direction and will continue to be so. I want to underline again that we can build the future and brand value of Turkish football not by saying 'all for me' but with common sense and unity. As I conclude my words, I thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, our sponsors, our broadcasters, our clubs, our athletes, our technical teams, and all members of the football family."

UNANIMOUS APPROVAL

Following the speeches, a vote of approval was held for the TFF President and board of directors. The activities of the TFF President and Board of Directors for the period from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, were unanimously approved.
