Acun Ilıcalı, the owner of Hull City who have been promoted to the Premier League, made important statements in an interview with BBC Radio Humberside about transfer activities, club investments, and future plans.
“WE WILL TAKE THE MONEY NOW AND USE IT”
Speaking about the club's use of a £55 million loan, Ilıcalı reminded that Premier League revenues come in installments, saying, “The money comes spread over a long period. We need the money now to make good transfers. We will talk to important players and will need to spend large sums in a short time. Instead of waiting, we will take the money now and use it.”

Referring to his spending on Hull City, Ilıcalı said, “I have spent about £120 million for the club in roughly 5 years. If we hadn’t been promoted to the Premier League, I would have spent another £20 million, then another £20 million. Because I didn’t want to turn this team into an ordinary team. Money is a tool for me to achieve success.”

Regarding the departure of Sporting Director Jared Dublin, Ilıcalı stated, “He played a significant role in the club's success. I thank him. But football is a professional business. We couldn't agree for the upcoming season. I respect his wishes, but my priority is always the interests of Hull City.”

Ilıcalı stated that they could add 12-13 players to the squad during the summer transfer window, saying, “We will transfer players worth £10, 15, maybe 20 million.
