A new ball will be used in the Spain-France and Netherlands-England matches. Adidas introduced the new Fussballliebe ball that will be used in the semi-finals and final matches to be played on July 14th in Berlin. This silver-colored ball includes black, red, and yellow details in reference to the host country Germany's colors. The silver color also represents the Euro 2024 trophy that the four teams in the semi-finals will compete for. Until this stage of the tournament, a white version of Fussballliebe was used. The previous ball had red, green, and yellow details. BALLS HAVE MACRO TEXTURESBoth balls are made of a polyurethane coating with micro and macro textures to improve aerodynamics and a 20-piece panel outer surface. Adidas announced that the new ball was tested with players before the semi-finals. After the transition from white to silver, the ball was designed to stand out on the field without reflecting light. COMPATIBLE WITH THE OFFSIDE SYSTEMThe ball also has technology that is compatible with a semi-automatic offside system, providing data to match officials. This allows for the correct positions of the ball and players to be determined in critical moments. The sensor inside the ball operates with a rechargeable battery and this technology was successfully used in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
