Afghan Forces Kill Plotter Behind Suicide Bombing

The Afghan secret service, NDS, on Wednesday claimed to have eliminated the main plotter behind Monday's massive suicide car bombing.



The NDS claimed in a statement the planner of the attack, Taliban commander Noman, was killed along with his seven fellows in Maindan Shahr last night in an air raid.



Two days ago, dozens of security forces were killed and at least 40 more wounded in a suicide attack on an NDS training facility in Maidan Shahr involving an armored vehicle packed with explosives. Four attackers, who wished to enter the compound, were shot dead by the security forces.



The attack was widely condemned in Afghanistan, also by Turkey and the U.S.



This was the second suicide car bombing in two days indicating an evident surge in the Taliban's onslaughts amid the stalled peace process. -
