After electricity, now this! Record time for water in Izmir.

After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority announced a 38 percent increase in electricity prices nationwide during the day, another disappointing news came for the people of Izmir. In an extraordinary meeting of the Izmir Water and Sewerage Administration, it was decided to raise water prices by 45 percent in Izmir. The price increase will be effective from July 1st.

The decision to increase water and wastewater fees by 45 percent for quantities of 0.5 cubic meters and above was approved by majority vote at the extraordinary meeting of İZSU General Assembly in İzmir. The decision will be effective from July 1st.

The İZSU General Assembly convened today under the chairmanship of Deputy Group Leader Altan İnanç.

45 PERCENT INCREASE IN WATER FEES IN İZMİR

During the meeting, it was unanimously agreed to increase water and wastewater fees by 45 percent for quantities of 0.5 cubic meters and above, effective from July 1st. On the other hand, in April, a proposal for a 25 percent reduction in fees for 0.4 cubic meters of water and wastewater was unanimously approved by the Council.

38 PERCENT INCREASE IN ELECTRICITY FEES

Meanwhile, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority announced a 38 percent increase in electricity fees. With this increase, the amount to be paid for a residential subscriber with a consumption of 100 kWh is 207.23 TL. The increase will be effective from July 1st.
