While Turkey mourns the loss of 20 soldiers who were martyred in a plane crash in Georgia, a scandalous post from the Greek Air Force's social media account has sparked outrage. The post, which featured photos of Greece's C130 cargo planes with the caption "Photo of the Day," has drawn significant criticism. Following the scandal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a verbal note to Greece.

The Greek Air Force shared images of "C130" type military cargo planes on the social media account of the US-based X company with the English note "Photos of the Day," but deleted it within minutes due to backlash.

BACKLASH INCREASED

Only 48 hours had passed since the crash of a "C130" type military cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Air Force on November 11 at the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, which resulted in the martyrdom of 20 soldiers, when the Greek Air Force made such a social media post, drawing intense reactions. Many social media users commented that what Greece did was "immoral" and "inconsistent with the principle of good neighborliness."

THEY PUBLISHED A CONDOLENCE LETTER

After deleting this post within minutes due to the intense backlash, the Greek Air Force published a condolence message dated November 12, sent by their commander, Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, on the same X account.

In the message shared by the Greek Air Force, addressed to the Commander of the Air Force, General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, it was stated, "We received this terrible news with great sadness. Words are not enough to describe such a tragedy and to express my deep sorrow for the loss of your personnel. We stand by you in these difficult times. On behalf of the Greek Air Force and myself, please accept my heartfelt condolences. I extend my deepest sympathies to their families and the personnel of the Turkish Air Force."

Sources from the Greek Ministry of Defense, contacted by AA correspondent, claimed that the controversial post was not related to the crash of the C130 type military cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Air Force on November 11 at the Azerbaijan-Georgia border, but was shared because it was a photo liked from the Greek Air Force's ceremony, and it was deleted afterward to prevent misunderstandings.
