Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency rates. FUEL PRICES CHANGE TWICE IN ONE DAYFollowing a 77 kuruş increase in diesel prices recently, today there was also a 64 kuruş increase in gasoline prices. With the reflected increases at the pump, the price of gasoline in Istanbul is sold at 43 lira 69 kuruş, while the price of diesel is 43 lira 52 kuruş per liter. HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities. EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGESAfter the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces changes in prices, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is concluded.
