The lifeless body of Mehmet Can Buz, who has been missing for 5 days in the Defne district of Hatay, was found in an abandoned building 500 meters from the container city where he lived.

Mehmet Can Buz, who lived in the container city located in Çekmece neighborhood of Defne district, left the container to get some fresh air last Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Buz, who is a graduate of Electrical and Electronics, disappeared without responding to his family's calls. The young man, who was diagnosed with depression and schizophrenia after the earthquake, could not be found despite his family's search in every street.

Buz's lifeless body was found in the abandoned building 500 meters away from the container city where they lived on the 5th day in the morning. After the investigations of the crime scene investigation teams, the family determined that the person missing was Mehmet Can. After the examinations at the crime scene, the body of the young man was sent to the morgue for the determination of the exact cause of death. The exact cause of Buz's death will be clarified as a result of the investigation conducted by the police teams.

Cihan Buz, the father of Mehmet Can Buz, who made statements before receiving news of his son's death, said, "My son was a well-educated, cultured, and university graduate electronic engineer. After this earthquake, everyone's forgetfulness and stress increased due to a psychological condition that affected everyone. He was receiving treatment. I used to take him to the hospital until a week ago. His treatment was going well, but I haven't heard from him since Wednesday at 5:30 pm. He said he would go out for a walk and take a little walk. He didn't come back home after that. I last spoke to him on Wednesday afternoon. He said, 'Dad, I'm very close to home and I'm going home.' He didn't answer the phone calls after that. He can harm himself and those around him. Because he hasn't been taking his medication for several days," he said.
