After Israel's attack on Lebanon, citizens of other countries living in Lebanon continue to arrive at Taşucu Port in Silifke district of Mersin by sea due to the closed airways. Many people who previously arrived at Taşucu Port by two ships have gone back to their countries from here. Today, a ship carrying 320 people from different countries, including Turkish citizens, entered the port. Passengers fleeing the war recounted their terrifying experiences. "WE HAD TO RETURN TO OUR COUNTRY"Gülsüm Sak, who fled the war and reached Turkey by sea, stated that they were scared due to the explosions, saying, "Especially our children were very scared. That’s why we had to return to our country. We were residing in Beirut. Our house is on a high hill. We saw the bombs, we were very scared," she said. "EVERYWHERE IS A LAKE OF BLOOD"Baki Çidem, who went to Lebanon from Samsun for work and had to return after the war, expressed that he returned to avoid dying in the war of two different countries, saying, "I went to work. Bombs are exploding everywhere. Bombs exploded next to the hotel we stayed in. What is happening is not like what you see on TV, everywhere is a lake of blood. We had to hide in the mountains. If I am going to die in a war, I would prefer to die in my own country. I had to return to avoid dying in the war of two different countries," he stated. Foreign passengers preparing to go to European countries after passport procedures thanked Turkey for facilitating their exit from Lebanon.
