A 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Pülümür district of Tunceli. Earthquake expert Prof. Dr. Neci Görür shared a post on his social media account regarding the 4.2 earthquake in Tunceli. Görür emphasized that the location of the earthquake is dangerous.
According to the data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 15:34 with its epicenter in the Pülümür district. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 7 kilometers. The tremor was felt not only in Pülümür but also in the city center and surrounding districts, causing a brief panic. According to initial assessments, no negative incidents were reported as a result of the earthquake.
"THE LOCATION OF THE EARTHQUAKE IS DANGEROUS"
Earthquake Expert Prof. Dr. Neci Görür shared a post on his social media account regarding the 4.2 magnitude earthquake in Tunceli. In his evaluation of the earthquake, Görür stated:
"A 4.2 earthquake occurred in Pülümür/Tunceli. The earthquake is very close to the KAF, in the Pülümür Fault Zone. The Pülümür Fault Zone has right-lateral strike-slip. The location of the earthquake is dangerous. The easternmost tip of the KAF is near the Yedi Su Fault. We expect an earthquake here. There is a possibility of triggering this area. Get well soon."
