Ahmet Nur Çebi regretted going up to the podium.

In the Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting for the year 2024 held at the ICC Istanbul Congress Center, Çebi made statements regarding the period between June 1, 2023, and December 3, 2023, which will be put to a vote for acquittal. Çebi, who was criticized by the current president Hasan Arat and protested by many members in the hall, responded to the criticisms.

"NO ONE CAN POINT FINGERS, NO ONE CAN BOO"

Çebi, who stated that he did not make any statements after leaving his position, said, "I came only to account for the financial general assembly. This is the first time in the last 25-30 years of Beşiktaş. I will come here again, and I will go down those stairs. No one can point fingers at the president of Beşiktaş, no one can boo, and no one can insult me on social media," he expressed.

Stating that he has no account to give, Çebi said, "I am not a man who cannot answer anything. I neither stole nor allowed anyone to steal in Beşiktaş," he added.

"I ENTERED BY REDUCING DEBT"

Ahmet Nur Çebi emphasized that the club was in a difficult situation when he was elected in 2019, saying, "When I took office four years ago, the debt was 3 billion lira. The equivalent was 582 million dollars. When I left, the debt was 8.4 billion lira, and the equivalent was 288 million dollars. I left by reducing the debt by 200 million dollars. The current debt is 13.3 billion lira, 386 million dollars. The new management has increased the debt by 100 million dollars in 6 months, which I reduced by 200 million dollars in four years," he stated.

"I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE"

The former president, who said, "I neither stole nor allowed anyone to steal in Beşiktaş," added, "Mr. Kaan, you are a banker, yes, but I am also a businessman. Do not underestimate us here. I do not find it right for you to present these reports here just because you are a banker. Why do you not mention the situation of the club when I came? I am not responsible for all of Beşiktaş's 100-year history. It is as if I am being portrayed as responsible," he expressed.

"ARE WE GOING TO SIT AND BE QUIET?"

Responding to those who reacted to him, Ahmet Nur Çebi said, "You can criticize us, but are we going to sit and be quiet? Let us respond. During the 6.5 years I served as the second president, we experienced a sacrifice period when Pepe and Simao were burdens on our backs. While no one was taking care of the club, we came and served. I dealt with seizures that came until morning. 17 lawsuits were filed during my term. There are many lawsuits that have not expired. My name is not mentioned, but it is very much mentioned. Where it is mentioned, I will do what is necessary. I am not a helpless man. I will not let anyone take Beşiktaş away from me. I have not taken a single penny from Beşiktaş, nor will I let anyone take it," he stated.

Çebi, who stated that he paid a 14 million dollar agency fee from the Fikret Orman period, said, "The 4 million dollar fee remaining from my term is being discussed. This will be paid in order. I did not discuss these when I came. When I came four years ago, the club had no strength. I left 4 million euros in the safe. Let’s talk about the truth and the falsehood. I served for 11 years. Do I not have the right to speak for 11 minutes?" he explained.

"I TOOK IT FROM GALATASARAY"

Çebi, who drew attention to the Gedson Fernandes transfer, said, "Shall we also talk about Gedson instead of Amartey? This player is playing with a salary of 1.4 million euros. Goalkeeper Mert Günok, Masuaku are still playing. We had already signed a contract with Semih Kılıçsoy until 2026. It seems as if the player was leaving and you stopped him, don’t do that.
