Recently, the DEM Party delegation that met with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, first met with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş and then with the MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.
"THE NEW PARADIGM DOES NOT SHOW SIMILARITIES WITH THE PREVIOUS SOLUTION PROCESS"
Evaluating the process, AK Party Diyarbakır Deputy Galip Ensarioğlu stated that "the new paradigm does not show similarities with the previous solution process, but the experiences from that process will definitely be taken into account in this course."
"FIRST, WE NEED TO ESTABLISH A PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT WITHIN OUR OWN BORDERS"
Ensarioğlu, who conveyed that there is a close relationship with the developments in Syria, said, "The recent developments in Syria are of great importance for Turkey as well. To ensure that potential dangers do not negatively affect Turkey, we first need to establish a peaceful environment within our own borders."
"ARMS WILL BE LAID DOWN ON NEVRUZ"
Ensarioğlu expressed hope that the new process could take shape by the end of February, provided there are no negative developments, saying, "I think arms will be laid down on Nevruz."
"LET'S SAY ÖCALAN WAS RELEASED TO HOUSE ARREST, CAN DEMİRTAŞ STAY IN PRISON?"
Speaking to 24saate, Ensarioğlu responded to a question about whether anything was discussed regarding the situation of the imprisoned former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş during the meetings: "This new paradigm does not contain a single goodness; there are many issues being addressed: There is democratization, there is a demand for peace... If the process is successful and let’s say Öcalan was released to house arrest, can Demirtaş stay in prison? Of course, that cannot be considered. The trustee would not remain either."
