AK Party Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ has denied the claims made by CHP leader Özgür Özel, who said that the municipalities with the highest SGK premium debts are the municipalities inherited from the AK Party. "The truth is not as Mr. Özgür Özel stated. The top 5 municipalities with the highest debts to SGK are Ankara, İzmir, İstanbul, Adana, and Şişli Municipality, respectively. All of these 5 municipalities were previously managed by the CHP. AK Party has hardly managed three of them," said Dağ.

The AK Party Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ denied the statement of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel that the municipalities with the highest SGK premium debts are the municipalities inherited from the AK Party. AK Party member Dağ stated, "The truth is not as Mr. Özgür Özel expressed. The 5 municipalities with the highest debts to SGK are Ankara, İzmir, Istanbul, Adana, and Şişli Municipality, respectively. All of these 5 municipalities were previously managed by the CHP. AK Party has hardly managed three of them."

ÖZEL: THE MOST INDEBTED MUNICIPALITIES WERE INHERITED FROM THE AK PARTY

The announcement by President Erdoğan that the Ministry will collect the total of 96 billion lira SGK debts of the municipalities sparked a new debate in Turkish politics. While CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated that the most indebted municipalities were inherited from the AK Party, AK Party Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ made a remarkable statement.

"THE 5 MOST INDEBTED MUNICIPALITIES WERE ALSO MANAGED BY THE CHP IN THE PREVIOUS TERM"

Hamza Dağ said the following: "Today, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated that the 5 municipalities with the highest SGK premium debts were the municipalities inherited from the AK Party. However, the truth is not as Mr. Özgür Özel expressed. The 5 municipalities with the highest debts to SGK are Ankara, İzmir, Istanbul, Adana, and Şişli Municipality, respectively. All of these 5 municipalities were previously managed by the CHP. AK Party has hardly managed three of them.

"IF THEY WANT TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE STATE, THEY SHOULD PAY THEIR SGK DEBTS"

Those who act with the sole purpose of using retired citizens as political material, if they want to contribute to the state and the nation, the first thing they should do is to pay their debts to SGK. Moreover, this situation is not only applicable to CHP municipalities. It is valid for all municipalities in Turkey. Just like the private sector and public institutions are obliged to pay their SGK debts, municipalities are also obliged to pay these debts.

Mr. Özel should stop giving futile speeches and "Every farmer should have a tractor" lies, and if he has the power, he should immediately instruct the mayors to pay these debts."
