AK Party member Yayman announced the date when the PKK will lay down its arms.

02.01.2025 17:15

AK Party Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman stated, "I believe that in February, there will be a climate in Turkey where weapons will be laid down, arms will be surrendered, and the PKK terrorist organization will no longer carry out actions in Turkey. If there are no significant provocations and everything proceeds smoothly, I foresee that there will be very important developments in February."

AK Party Hatay Deputy and Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Digital Media Commission Hüseyin Yayman made striking statements. Speaking at a press conference he held in the TBMM, Yayman evaluated the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli at his party's group meeting in the TBMM on October 22 and the developments that followed.

"THE DEM PARTY MUST FULFILL ITS HISTORICAL RESPONSIBILITY"

Pointing out that the developments in Syria are proof of how Bahçeli spoke with a prophecy, Yayman emphasized that he views the developments positively and stated: "For the mothers of martyrs not to cry, for Turkey to be freed from this terror plague, Mr. Bahçeli's call is of historical significance, it has broken the taboos, it has torn down the walls. In a sense, it is a litmus test, a test of sincerity. It is very valuable. In the 1990s, when Turkey was struggling with the plague of terror, there was a statement by the late Alparslan Türkeş on a TV channel saying to HEP deputy Leyla Zana, 'If you have a problem, call me, you can always reach me.' In fact, Bahçeli's stance has been very clear from yesterday to today. What he said with Ahmet Türk is of historical significance. There will be positive developments in the coming days. The word is now with DEM. The DEM Party must fulfill its historical responsibility. It should take a more encouraging stance regarding the PKK terrorist organization's laying down of arms and putting an end to actions in Turkey. Today, for the first time in history, the DEM Party is visiting Devlet Bahçeli. This is an action and stance that our nation wants to see."

"I SEE VERY IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS IN FEBRUARY"

Expressing that he believes the terrorist organization will lay down its arms in February, Yayman concluded his remarks as follows: "Those who were angry with Mr. Bahçeli that day, those who objected, those who threw ropes from the parliamentary podium, after the developments in Syria, have probably all understood together how historically significant this call is. Mr. Bahçeli has made his call, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed his thoughts on this matter. The terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan has made a statement. Now it is the turn of the DEM Party. The DEM Party must fulfill this historical responsibility. I foresee that in February, there will be a climate in Turkey where arms will be laid down, arms will be surrendered, and the PKK terrorist organization will no longer carry out actions in Turkey, provided that there are no significant provocations and everything proceeds smoothly. I see that there will be very important developments in February that will truly change the history of Turkey in a positive direction and enable Turkey to make significant moves."
