WILL VISIT CHP

It was stated that the 'influence agency' article, which was removed from the Notary Law Proposal due to objections from the opposition, will be re-evaluated between the AKP and CHP.

In this context, AKP Group Deputy Chair Özlem Zengin will meet with CHP Group Deputy Chairs at 5:00 PM. The 'influence agency' regulation will also be discussed in the meeting.

WHAT DOES THE PROPOSAL INCLUDE?

The bill adds a new crime under the title "committing crimes against the security of the state or its political interests" to Article 339 of the Turkish Penal Code, which regulates the crime of "espionage".

The proposal foresees a prison sentence of three to seven years for those who commit crimes in line with the strategic interests or instructions of a foreign state or organization against the security of the state or its internal or external political interests, provided that they are not within the scope of the "espionage crime".
