AK Party Spokesperson Çelik: We stood on the right side of history in Syria.

The AK Party MKYK meeting, chaired by President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has concluded. AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik addressed the cameras after the meeting and made statements.

ÖMER ÇELİK'S STATEMENT AFTER MKYK

In his statements, AK Party Spokesperson Çelik devoted significant attention to the events in Syria. He stated that the claim that Turkey supports HTS in Syria is incorrect, saying: Our MYK and MKYK members are going to the provinces, and the process continues with the participation of our chairman. Our friends who are handing over and taking over the duties are managing this process in brotherhood. We thank those who contributed.

"THE HEAVIEST AGENDA OF THE LAST 70-80 YEARS"

These days, we are perhaps facing the heaviest agenda of the last 70-80 years. The Russia-Ukraine war is entering its fourth year. We see that some weapons are coming into play. There was a statement from the Russian leader regarding armament towards NATO. There is a picture that increasingly raises tensions. We see how the lack of support for the peace initiative initiated by our President has cost us.

"WE CONTINUED ON OUR PATH WITH THE SLOGAN 'SYRIA BELONGS TO SYRIANS'"

Our top priority is the developments in Syria. Syria, along with Gaza, is our main headline. The 61-year-old Baath regime has come to an end. It is extremely important for our brothers from all walks of life in Syria to look to the future with hope. Our Turkish flag is being carried by the citizens of Syria in the squares. Their waving of our flag expresses their positive feelings towards Turkey's support during this 13-year period. While many states view Syria as a ground to exploit, Turkey continues on its path with the slogan 'Syria belongs to Syrians' to support them. After 12 years, our embassy has started its duties, and our flag has been raised. This can be read as our state standing by Syria in this difficult journey.

"WE KNOW HOW BAATH HAS LASTED THIS LONG"

Those who read the Syrian issue through the eyes of other capitals evaluate how it has lasted this long. If they knew closely, they would be surprised at how Baath has lasted this long. We know how they have survived. They have remained standing so far with the support of certain powers. The leadership of our President has led Turkey to stand on the right side of history. Despite the difficulties of this process, our nation has stood on the right side of history. Once again, our nation has shown that it is the biggest supporter of those in difficulty.

Our messages are clear. After Assad's departure, any focus managing alone will repeat the past. The main issue is the territorial integrity of Syria. There are two main issues; one is the territorial integrity of Syria, and the other is national sovereignty.

"THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST SUPPORT SYRIA"

This image shows a tank belonging to the Baath regime. They have turned it into a fruit and vegetable stand by placing fruits and vegetables on it. Their ability to capture this tank and turn it into this shows that the Syrians want a normal life, how tired they are of oppression, and how much they desire a civilized life. The new administration has been giving positive messages so far. Despite the images coming from prisons, it is very important that they talk about adherence to the law regarding what will be done against these. The new administration expresses that it has learned from the surrounding countries and that it will express territorial integrity, and the constitution will be reviewed. This constitution will be the basis of the commitment that Syria belongs to Syrians.

"CLAIMS THAT WE ARE BEHIND HTS MOVEMENT ARE INCORRECT"

There are certain claims. We see those who claim that Turkey is behind the HTS movement. Our statements that we are behind the HTS movement are incorrect. Our entire initiative has been to prevent bloodshed in Syria. They have mobilized, and it is questioned how such results emerged in such a short time. The decayed structure of the regime has remained standing thanks to the support given to it. Certain violations were committed by the regime, and promises were not kept. HTS mobilized to take its own regions, and progress was made when it was seen that the military regime was not present. When it was seen that regime soldiers surrendered and fled, no power remained. To say that Turkey is behind this means not being able to read the issues.

"SYRIA MUST NOT BECOME ANYONE'S SPHERE"

There will be attempts by those who want to make Syria a satellite state. Some terrorist organizations will act in parallel with those who want this place to become a failed state. Syria must continue as a state that respects its territorial integrity. It must not become anyone's sphere.

"THEY WANT SCANDINAVIAN DEMOCRACY FROM THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT"

We closely follow the messages from Western countries. We see that they have put some footnotes regarding support for Syria. They are mixing in the Russian bases there for support. The attitude of saying you will act like this is not correct. It would be a repetition of the difficulties experienced there so far. They are practically asking for Scandinavian democracy from the Syrian government; the conditions there are clear. There needs to be support for the establishment of a constitutional order there. They should help for a strong democracy. It is not right to intervene by bringing up already resolved issues by imposing such standards and saying if you do not do this, this will happen. The key point for regional and Western countries is to help Syria. This is the key point.

"EVERYONE MUST STEP UP FOR THE SOLUTION OF ISIS"

Everyone must step up for the solution of the ISIS issue. It is a primitive approach to work with terrorist organizations against terrorist organizations. Israel has begun to occupy the Golan by taking advantage of the vacuum. They have come close to Damascus and made a government decision to establish military winter bases and settlements. This is the occupation of another sovereign country's territory. They will have to face certain reactions. Instead of giving messages for the welfare of the Syrian people towards the new administration, we see that they are giving messages regarding Israel's security. If you are so sensitive, it is the Netanyahu government that should refrain from this aggression. In Syria, the state has collapsed, not the regime. The agreement is in effect.

"WE MAKE A DISTINCTION BETWEEN TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS AND THE PEOPLE"

In the PKK YPG issue, it is inconceivable for any terrorist organization to control a region. They also use ISIS as an excuse. The tunnels of the PKK have become a subject of litigation. They need to terminate these projects. We make a distinction between terrorist organizations and the people.

There is no place for terrorist organizations there. PKK PYD is a model of a micro Baath regime. This is being done because it is a useful tool. Sooner or later, the PKK PYD terrorist organization will be eliminated from there. Everyone in Syria should come together to establish this new administration under the slogan "Syria belongs to Syrians." Those who say Turkey dominates here are trying to cover up their own intentions.

VISIT OF MIT PRESIDENT KALIN

Some circles within Turkey are expressing why the HTS leader met. The situation on the ground determines what is what. Until yesterday, Assad was a regime that could be addressed, but today Assad is gone. While HTS is evaluated as a terrorist organization, today it is seen as one of the forces that signed for Syria's free future. The Syrian people see it as the element that liberated them from the Assad regime. The meeting of the MIT president is related to our support efforts. They express that some countries are in contact with HTS for the opening of embassies. Those who criticize the MIT president's meeting have their minds stuck in Baath. We express our gratitude to our soldiers and police serving in Syria. MIT has never withdrawn from there. We also express our gratitude to them.

"OUR PRESIDENT HAS BEEN RIGHT AT EVERY STAGE"

Mr. Özgür is making too many comments on prayer issues. It is said, "May Allah accept it," the rest is empty talk. Expressions like "You were not right" are used. The evidence that our president was right is seen in the fact that the Syrian people wave the Turkish flag to express their gratitude after Assad's departure. They carry only our glorious flag, not that of another state. Our president has been right at every stage of this process.

No one from within Turkey should look at the issue through the eyes of this or that capital; they should look through the eyes of our capital. These are statements viewed through the eyes of a finished and gone Baath. Our president has taken the greatest political risks regarding the Syrian issue.
