PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS WILL CLOSE AT 10 AM

In a written statement by the Iranian Government Information Council, it was stated that the decision was taken to protect the health of the people and manage energy consumption due to the ongoing extreme heat throughout the country. According to the decision, it was stated that all public institutions and banks in the country, except for emergency services, will serve between 06.00-10.00 today.

TEMPERATURE WILL EXCEED 42 DEGREES

In some regions in the south of Iran, temperatures reach up to 50 degrees, while according to meteorological forecasts, the temperature in Tehran will exceed 42 degrees today.

Due to the hottest days in recent years in Iran, electricity consumption reached a record level of 79,189 megawatts nationwide on July 24, and the electricity distribution company Tevanir, which announced that it cannot meet excessive consumption, stated that it will request a holiday for the public and private sectors in the capital Tehran on July 27.

Mustafa Recebi Meşhedi, the General Manager of Tevanir, stated in a statement on July 25 that the average temperatures in the country in recent days have increased by 2 degrees compared to the same period last year, and this has caused excessive load on electricity consumption.
