Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that five suspects involved in the armed attack on former national football player Serhat Akın have been apprehended. Yerlikaya also provided information that the unlicensed firearm used in the incident has been seized.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced a new development regarding the armed attack on former Fenerbahçe and national football team player Serhat Akın that took place a few days ago. Yerlikaya stated that all suspects involved in the incident have been captured.

5 SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN CAPTURED

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made the following statements;

"All suspects involved in the injury incident of former football player and football commentator Serhat Akın have been captured.

As a result of the coordinated efforts of our teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch and Intelligence Branch, the following individuals involved in the incident have been captured;

O.D. (the one who used the weapon),

O.M. (the one who rode the motorcycle),

E.Ü. (the one who drove the car with the suspects),

M.A. (the one who acted with the suspects),

İ.T. (the one who acted with the suspects after the incident).

One unlicensed firearm used by the suspect in the incident has been seized.

Wishing a speedy recovery to former football player and commentator Serhat Akın, who was injured in the incident.

We will not forgive those who engage in urban banditry, who threaten the lives of innocent people, and who disturb the peace of our citizens! We are determined to capture each of them and bring them to justice.

I congratulate our heroic police officers who carried out the operation. May God protect them from harm. The prayers of our nation are with you."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Fenerbahçe and national team player, now commentator Serhat Akın was attacked with a firearm after leaving a program he attended in Beykoz. Akın, who was injured in the leg, was taken to the hospital after the first intervention by health teams at the scene. Serhat Akın, whose health condition is good, is continuing his treatment.
