World-renowned football players have been sued for their alleged involvement in the Omegapro cryptocurrency scam. The Dubai-based company raised $4 billion from 3 million investors. The Omegapro scandal is now shaking the football world.

Famous football players Vinicius Jr., Ronaldinho, and Luis Figo are being accused in a $4 billion Omegapro cryptocurrency fraud case. The involvement of these celebrities in the fraud, which promised investors a 300% return, has caused significant losses for investors. The company, accused of fraud by many European countries, is at the center of the scandal.

Famous Football Players Sued Due to Cryptocurrency Fraud

Leading figures in world football are at the center of a massive cryptocurrency fraud case. In the alleged fraud conducted by the Dubai-based Omegapro company, football stars including Vinicius Jr., Ronaldinho, and Luis Figo have been sued.

The company affected approximately 3 million people worldwide by promising a 300% return in just 14 months, resulting in a $4 billion scam. Well-known footballers such as Kaká, Carles Puyol, Roberto Carlos, and Fernando Hierro are also among the defendants in the case.

Despite warnings issued about Omegapro by many countries, including Spain, France, Belgium, and Peru, it has been claimed that the aforementioned footballers continued to support the company. Lawyer Lars Olofsson stated that the cases would be heard in London, while the jurisdiction of the cases planned to be opened in Spain has not yet been clarified.

In November 2022, coinciding with the collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange, Omegapro closed user accounts and halted withdrawal transactions. One of the victims stated that they lost 18,000 euros due to the influence of the celebrities, while another victim expressed their disappointment with the words, "I just wanted to live like them, why can't I?"

In Turkey, significant developments occurred in the case. The company's co-founder, Swedish citizen Andreas Szakacs, changed his name to Emre Avcı and fled to Turkey, where he was captured in July of this year. At the same time, the company's Dutch general manager, Robert V., was also detained in Turkey.
