It has been revealed that a 87-year-old woman in Yozgat has been using the identity of her deceased sister for 21 years. The woman, who received a pension from her late brother-in-law, took out loans from banks and obtained unjust benefits amounting to 15 million TL from various public institutions and organizations. She and three suspects have been taken into custody.
An astonishing event has come to light in Yozgat. It has been determined that a 87-year-old woman caused the state a loss of 15 million TL by using the identity of her deceased sister for 21 years.
SHE CAUSED A LOSS OF 15 MILLION TL USING HER SISTER'S IDENTITY
The Yozgat Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch, along with Cyber Crime teams, determined in an investigation coordinated by the Şefaatli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office that four individuals obtained unjust benefits from various public institutions and organizations by using the identity and bank information of H.E., who passed away at the age of 65.
In the qualified fraud case that occurred in the Şefaatli district, it was determined that S.C., 87 years old, used the identity of her sister H.E., who passed away 65 years ago, to receive her brother-in-law's pension after her sister's husband also passed away 21 years ago, took out loans from banks, and obtained unjust benefits of 15 million lira from various public institutions and organizations.
4 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Four suspects were caught in an operation conducted at three different addresses in Yozgat, Kayseri, and Ankara. During the searches at the addresses, four mobile phones, four SIM cards, two bank credit cards, and an identity card belonging to someone else were seized. S.C., her sister's son A.E. (53), daughter Z.D. (64), and grandson L.R.O. (25) were detained on charges of 'establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime', 'qualified fraud', 'forgery of official private documents', and 'misuse of bank and credit cards'.
