An American billionaire has purchased a Premier League team.

Everton, one of the teams in the English Premier League, has been officially acquired by Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited, part of The Friedkin Group (TFG).

As a result of the agreement with Farhad Moshiri's Blue Heaven Holdings, the majority shares of the club have been transferred to Roundhouse. Dan Friedkin, the Owner and CEO of TFG, currently has a net worth of $7.6 billion. He is also the president of AS Roma, an Italian Serie A club owned by TFG.

SUCCESSFUL WITH MOURINHO

The Friedkin Group took over the management of the Italian team Roma in 2020 and led the club to success in the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022 under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Marc Watts, the new Chairman of Everton's Board, stated after the completion of the acquisition process: "Today is a very proud day for The Friedkin Group. We are honored to be the new owners of this iconic club. We are determined to work towards an exciting new era for the club both on and off the pitch. Ensuring financial stability for Everton was a priority for us, and we have achieved success in this regard. However, it will take time to bring the club back to where it deserves to be in the Premier League. Today, we take the first step on that journey."
