Mustafa Akın (70) and his wife Naciye Akın (70), who set out from Sülek Plateau in the Bozkır district of Konya with their animals to go to Akseki district of Antalya, lost their way in the plateau due to the blizzard. Relatives who could not hear from the elderly couple reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center. The Antalya AFAD teams, who were mobilized, found the elderly couple wrapped around their lambs, on the verge of freezing. The Akın couple was taken to Seydişehir State Hospital. It was learned that the couple's health condition was good after the first intervention here. "THEY CAME AND SAVED US"Naciye Akın, who did not separate from her lambs even for a moment while on the verge of freezing, recounted her experiences. Naciye Akın, who said she raised her lamb named "Fatih" by feeding it with her own hands, stated, "One of the sheep gave birth, but it didn't have milk, so I took milk from my cows and found a bottle to raise my lambs. One of the lambs is named Fatih; when I came to the base of that tree, the cows were lying down, and the mother of the lambs was there too. I called Fatih, my son, and the lambs came to my lap. In the meantime, the AFAD teams arrived, they picked me up from the base of the tree; it was close to the road, but how would we know where the road was? The road was invisible due to the snow, and the mountains were also invisible. They came and saved us, they took our prayers, and brought us to the hospital," she said. "WE HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE TIME"Naciye Akın stated that besides themselves, three other families were also present in the plateau, mentioning that one of the families had sheep and the other two had cows. Mustafa Akın, on the other hand, said that it had snowed the day before and spoke as follows: "We had sent the sheep earlier; there were five or six cows and lambs. We were going to take a shortcut. We didn't know what time it was. We had no idea about the time; we just realized it was evening. I saw the lights of AFAD were on. We shouted to each other; they must have received a signal, as they hadn't come before. May God bless them; they picked us up and took us to the car. They put us in the car and brought us here. The paramedics were waiting below; first aid was done there, and then we came here. May God not let harm come to our state and nation."
