The incident occurred around 21:30 in the village of Coburlar in Çaycuma district. According to allegations, former police officer Okan Ö. came to the village coffeehouse and randomly opened fire on those sitting inside with a shotgun.
FORMER POLICE SPREAD TERROR
The pellets from the shotgun hit coffeehouse owner Kasım Özcan, Aydın Özbakış, Gökhan G. (39), and Hüseyin G. (67). While the injured lay on the ground in a pool of blood, the suspect Okan Ö. fled the village in his vehicle.
Upon notification, a large number of health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. The injured were taken to Çaycuma State Hospital by ambulances, but despite the efforts of doctors, Kasım Özcan and Aydın Özbakış could not be saved. Gökhan G. and Hüseyin G. were admitted for treatment at the hospital.
